If George Bush was an idiot, then...

September 29, 2009 08:29 by BrianR

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be  able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said  this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of  dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have  approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement  plan's holdings of GM stock by  90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have  approved?

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have  approved?

If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have
approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to “Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?

If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as proof of what a dunce he is?

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed  by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread  panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

If George W Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive?

Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in 5 months -- so you'll have three years and seven months to come up with an answer.

Former President Jimmah Carter says we're racists

September 19, 2009 17:34 by BrianR

Cleary, I disagree, and here's why:  Racism is not rational.  period.  I am a rational person, I believe in respecting a person based on the content of their character.  I think most conservatives feel this way and believe all people are equal and none should be favored above another.  In a liberal's world, if you disagree with Barack Hussein, it must be because your are racist - that's the only explanation.  It can't be because you disagree with his ideas and (lack of) principles - they're perfect and must be the only true way to enlightment.  Nope, if you disagree with Him, it's not because you believe the government shouldn't punish success, it's not because you think He has no executive experience and surrounds himself with self-proclaimed communists, nope! Just be thinking those things makes you a racist!  How dare you have thoughts that aren't pro-Obama? People like Carter, Bill Maher and others on the left will have you feel like you are just as despicable as hood-wearing Klan members just because you think government-run health care would destroy small busineses, ruin the insurance industry and make ambulance-chasers rich.   It was predicable that the left would play the race card, they always do.   What will be interesting now is how patriots react to it.  Do we cower and hide because our opposition to Socialism is now called "racism"?

For proof that REAL racism is alive and well in the U.S.,  just look to Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan.

Common Ground?!

May 18, 2009 13:31 by BrianR
Obamessiah called for "common ground" while speaking at Norte Dame.  Who is he kidding?  This guy is PRO-abortion, not just "pro-choice".  Here is the FactCheck.org link where his preference for INFANTICIDE is discussed.  How the hell do you arrive at "common ground" with that?  Ok, so we're only going to kill babies on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays?  I can comprehend a person's pro-choice position, but Obama's support for killing children who survive abortion is incomprehensible.

WOW! That was great!

April 15, 2009 18:34 by BrianR

What a great rally! It seemed like thousands of people were there. All of the speakers were very moving and I found it encouraging that all the speeches were cohesive.  Each built upon an re-inforced the ideas of the last.  I appreciated the presence of the law enforcement officers, they were not overbearing and yet I never felt unsafe.

Great job!

Obama: America is not a Christian Nation

April 7, 2009 20:10 by BrianR

This makes me absolutely sick.  This sphincter is in a Muslin country making nice by telling them that America is not a Christian or Jewish nation.  This country was founded on Judeo-christian ideals and beliefs.

My five year-old daughter asked what made us upset, so I simply said that the president just said "America is not a Christian country".    After a few minutes of pondering, she started crying "They're going to arrest us when they find out we're Christians!"

Entitlements versus Inalienable Rights

March 31, 2009 08:31 by BrianR

As an American, you are granted certain Inalienable rights.  These are rights bestowed upon you because you are an American.  They are simply  Life, Liberty, the pursuit of Happiness and the pursuit of Wealth.  Notice that you are not entitled to a college education, health care or 57 cable channels.  You have the right to not be killed for someone else's benefit.  You have the right to not be a slave.  You have the right to do what makes you happy, as long as it doesn't violate another's rights.  You have the right to use your intellect and ambition to achieve wealth.  That's it.   I hate the word "entitled".  It is abused these days.  Many people seem to think that they are to be given a roof over their head simply because they "need" one.  I think it is up to individuals to work to achieve a home.   It is the government's role not to provide homes, jobs or even education, but to protect the security and sovereignty of the nation and her people.

Along these lines, I feel that the verbiage of the "GIVE" act provide the government to violate the constitutional rights of Americans by requiring "Mandatory Service" a.k.a SLAVERY.

Huh. Maybe Bush wasn't so bad...

March 22, 2009 22:03 by BrianR

The projections by from the office of the Teleprompter of the United States show that the nation's economy will be swimming drowning in debt for many years to come.  Where's all that whining and complaining we heard about Bush driving the deficit way up?

Fiegned Outrage

March 22, 2009 21:40 by BrianR
Ok, so $165 Million dollars is a lot of money, no argument here.  However, the bonuses paid to AIG execs were contractual obligations and were allowed under the bailout agreement.  That is to say that if the feds wanted AIG to not fulfill its obligations, that language should have been in the bailout agreement.  What really irks me about this situation is that the MSM has failed to put the money into perspective.  The $165 Million paid as bonuses is LESS THAN ONE ONE-THOUSANDTH of the total bailout amount.  Chairman Zero will pump many, many times that amount into things much more wasteful than that.  In fact, an executive making an extra few million is actaully good for the economy because they spend the money - it goes back into the economy without devaluing the dollar any further.

What?! The bitter folks clinging to guns and religion were right?

March 7, 2009 18:12 by BrianR

The shift has started.  It's very mild and will occur very, very slowly - the MSM will never admit Bush wasn't THAT bad or that they were puppets for the Hussein campaign (It rhymes!)  This article by the AP is the first I've seen where those who are disenfranchised with Him are NOT also identified as sorely-dissapointed McCain supporters.    Hugo Chavez is very proud of Obama and the rapid march toward socialism we're on.  Hugo-friggin'-Chevez!  Come on!    The Keynesian priciple has been shown to be flawed time and time again, but here we are.   More in debt than the nation has ever been.  Some will say that Bush caused this and Hussein inherited it.  The truth as I see it, is that the Democrat-controlled congress of the second hald of Bush's second term brought this economic problem about.  They (Barney, "three-dollar-bill" Frank, namely) employed rules in the committees that encouraged banks to lend money to people they SHOULD NOT HAVE.  He is complicit in the collapse of the economy.  Bush was impotent in his last two years and was simply along for the ride.  Once Obama came into office, he has spent insane amounts of YOUR money on pork projects that will not create jobs, stimulate economic growth and shown favoritism for socialist causes.

Ok, this isn't the best article ever written, but once I get started in a direction...

The United States of Europe?

March 6, 2009 13:05 by BobbyL

As Hilary Clinton made rounds to visit the European elite, she obviously felt right at home.  During a question and answer session at the EU Parliament, the current President stated:

Parliament President Hans-Gert Poettering was effusive in his praise, saying that with the new administration, the United States and Europe once again "share the same values."

"What you said mostly could have been said by a European," he told Clinton after she fielded questions ranging from climate change to energy security and aid to Africa . . . .

President Poettering stated better than I what is exactly wrong with this administration!

Who Am I?

March 5, 2009 08:47 by BrianR
I was born in one country, raised in another.

My father was born in another country.

I was not his only child. He fathered several children with numerous women.

I became very close to my mother, as my father showed no interest in me.

My mother died at an early age from cancer.

Later in life, questions arose over my real name.

My birth records were sketchy and no one was able to produce a legitimate, reliable birth certificate.

I grew up practicing one faith but converted to Christianity,as it was widely accepted in my country, but I practiced non-traditional beliefs & didn't follow Christianity, except in the public eye under scrutiny.

I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult, disguising myself as someone who really cared about them.

That was before I decided it was time to get serious about my life and I embarked on a new career.

I wrote a book about my struggles growing up. It was clear to those who read my memoirs that I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned me as a child.

I became active in local politics in my 30's then with help behind the scenes, I literally burst onto the scene as a candidate for national office in my 40s. They said I had a golden tongue and could talk anyone into anything.

That reinforced my conceit.

I had a virtually non-existent resume, little work history, and no experience in leading a single organization. Yet I was a powerful speaker and citizens were drawn to me as though I were a magnet and they were small roofing tacks.

I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances.

This bolstered my ego.

At first, my political campaign focused on my country's foreign policy.

I was very critical of my country in the last war and seized every opportunity to bash my country.

But what launched my rise to national prominence were my views on the country's economy. I pretended to have a really good plan on how we could do better and every poor person would be fed & housed for free.

I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess. It was the free market, banks & corporations. I decided to start making citizens hate them and if they were envious of others who did well, the plan was clinched tight.

I called mine "A People's Campaign" and that sounded good to all people.

I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the traditional path of politics & was able to gain widespread popular support.

I knew that if I merely offered the people 'hope',together we could change our country and the world.

So, I started to make my speeches sound like they were on behalf of the downtrodden, poor and ignorant to include "persecuted minorities".

My true views were not widely known & I needed to keep them unknown, until after I became my nation's leader.

I had to carefully guard reality, as anybody could have easily found out what I really believed, if they had simply read my writings and examined those people I associated with.

I'm glad they didn't.

Then I became the most powerful man in the world.

And the world learned the truth.

Who am  I?

Local reporters just don't get it; Psst. your bias is showing

March 4, 2009 10:20 by BrianR

This Clarion-Ledger article ticks me off.  This item in particular:

The Mississippi Democratic Party has taken painstaking measures to ensure diversity in its leadership process. For instance, if the state party has a white male chairman, then the vice chair has to be a black female.

I think that's a big reason why the Dem's in MS are so nutty!  Even if there is a qualified, dedicated individual available for the position, they cannot be seated unless they are the correct combination of race and sex.  Wow.  That's despicable.  Mrs. Byrd implies that the MS GOP is just a bunch of good-ole-boys who only want white folks involved.  I'll concede that there may be some people that are like that, but I strongly suspect that there's just not any non-whites willing to participate in the GOP in this state.  It's no secret that this state is racially polarized (have you ever seen a McCain/Palin bumber sticker on a car owned by a black Mississippian?  Me neither).  I, for one, welcome any person of any description to become more aware of the GOP and, more importantly, the conservative principles.

There are masses of people brainwashed to believe that the GOP and conservative are out-to-get-them.  The truth they've never been exposed to is simply that conservatives belive in personal responsibility  .  Your actions have consequences.

Another Obama appointee with tax problems

March 3, 2009 13:08 by BrianR
Wow, if I didn't know better, I'd say that not paying your taxes is systemic in the democratic community.  I swear Joe Biden even said that paying taxes was patriotic; draw your own conclusions.  This time, it's Ron Kirk, who was appointed to US trade representative that owes $10 in back taxes.    Hmm, I don't like paying taxes.  Think I could just not pay 'em for a while?  Unlikely a conservative could get away with it, especially down here.  Besides, if I didn't pay taxes, how would they ever be able to afford to abort all those babies?

Obama wants to make sure doctors cannot refuse to perform abortions

March 3, 2009 09:15 by BrianR

Bush implemented a rule that helped protect jobs of the health care professionals who are capable of performing abortions, but refuse to do so.  This meant that a doctor could practice medicine AND have morals without fear of losing his or her job because of those morals.    Obama and cronies are so opposed to people having morals that he is seeking to rescind the rule.  The result of this will mean that doctors will be forced to perform abortions, against their better judgement, in order to keep their job.  Whether the rule is dropped successfully or not has yet to be seen, but for me it is a moot point.  The point, as far as I am concerned is that his motives and actions indicate a position that is opposed to the notion that human life is valuable, that children should be protected and that the right and ability to kill babies is more important than any other area of medicine.

 Sick!

"Socialist" Maxine Waters Slips and Tells the Truth!

March 2, 2009 13:35 by BobbyL
Democrat Congresswoman Maxine Waters slips and had a rare moment of truth in a Congressional "Fact-Finding" session with several oil company executives.  While badgering these successful businessmen and relentlessly berating their salaries, etc, she goes on and on about how she intends the government to come in and take over all of the oil companies.  She then slips as states that the government should "socialize the oil companies”. While I believe she intended to say "nationalize"  instead of "socialize", it is apparent what she would REALLY like to see happen.   The funny part of the video clip; however, is when she realizes that she said out loud what she was actually thinking!  She tries unsuccessfully to recover, but the words just aren't there.  Also make sure you watch her Congressional cohorts as they try unsuccessfully to hide their own delight when this over-stuffed wind-bag steps on her own tail! While laughing at her discomfort; the fact remains that her socialistic faux pas is becoming reality faster than you can say Barak Hussein Obama!

The Dow is tanking and Obama is to blame

March 2, 2009 12:54 by BrianR

Today, the Dow dropped below 7000 for the first time since October 1997.  This is in reaction to the gargantuan spending that's been proposed by BHO and the market reaction to AIG.  AIG reported that during it's fourth quarter, it lost a LOT of money - like $61.7 Billion.  The Government's response?  Send 'em another $30 Billion.  Granted; this is another loan, not an outright gift.   Maybe you've noticed lately - banks and mortgage companies are tightening up on who they lend money to - and for good reason.  Do you think for an instant that any privately-help bank would lend $30 Billion to an organization that just lost $62.7 Billion?!  Hell no they wouldn't - but the Barack Hussein administration sure will.  They're more than happy to risk YOUR money and the money taken from YOUR children.

[update]

The DJIA ended down 299.64 for the day, a massive loss.
